Images of people, places, culture and life from each and every coast.

About From These Oceans

From These Oceans is a very simple website, designed to house a visual record of my experiences, reflections, people met and lessons learned.

While the nature of this site is essentially a personal one, I am more than happy to share my experiences with the public. Ideally you will be able to relate to, or draw inspiration, from my work.

After all, this world is too large and too lonely for us not to find as many meaningful connections as we can, in the short amount of time we’re given.

Feel free to leave as many comments and suggestions as possible on each post.  I’m hoping this will be a great way to interact with the community and am always looking for ways to improve the site and my photography.

Thanks and enjoy.

About the author

Snorkelling the Costa del Sol in Spain

From These Oceans was created and is run by Conor McLeod, a 24 year old journalist from South Australia.

In mid 2016 I finished working as a rural journalist in country Australia and decided to take a bit of time off to travel the world.

In August I booked a one-way flight to Milan, before setting off around the Mediterranean for the first leg of the journey.

I’m not sure how long I will be away from home, or where the trip will take me, but am very excited for all of the possibilities that this method of solo travel provides.

My passions include everything to do with the ocean; diving, fishing, surfing, spearing and snorkelling; as well as local food and drink and finding experiences unique to a country.

Feel free to get in touch if you are doing something similar, or if you have any questions I’d be very happy to try and answer them.

Happy travels, Conor McLeod
